Clinical Pastoral Education

The College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy certifies this 

post-graduate, community/parish based training track for parish pastors, 

clinical and institutional chaplains and pastoral counselors committed to qualified

 pastoral counseling.

CPSP is a theologically-based community offering accreditation and certification to 

individuals and programs that meet standards of expertise in clinical chaplaincy, 

as well as pastoral counseling.  CPSP has affiliate membership with the Association

 of Theological Schools and is a full member of the Coalition on Ministry in 

Specialized Settings (COMISS)

A unit of study and training requires 400 hours of hands-on ministry, which includes 

group and individual sessions where reflection and feedback on the work is received 

in a peer group.   Pastors, chaplains and lay persons interested in applying for this 

program of study should contact this office as soon as possible.  

A pre-admission interview will precede admission to the program.
